Valentine's and My Love Bugs

So, I typically dread Valentine's Day. I don't really enjoy it. The only thing I find really special about it, is that my Daddy has always gotten something for his 3 girls. So, I always know I can count on my Daddy. :)

Tonight, we made Love Bugs at church. My kiddos at church truly are my little love bugs. I love every moment (no matter how crazy) that I get to spend with them. :)

Joy

Lately, God has been teaching me many things. He's teaching me to find joy in the small things. He's teaching me about love. He's teaching me that my plans, are not His, and how to be content in that. He's teaching me that my family, and true friends are a gift from Him. He's teaching me that there is a reason for everything. He's teaching me to be patient. He's teaching me how to grow up (no matter how much I really don't want to.) He's teaching me to lean on Him for strength and guidance and to quit trying to do it all on my own. He's teaching me love. He's teaching me joy. I love my Jesus. He truly is amazing. I am so thankful for the blessings He has given me.
Things are looking up at Cornerstone. Constantly, my prayer has been, that God would keep me there, until He was through with me. And that when He was through with me/us, He would close the doors, because none of us are giving up. It's been such a journey and a roller coaster. But God has been ever-faithful. He never ceases to amaze. My God is big.
We've been singing a song lately, in Children's church. Here's Lillie giving you a taste...

Miss Lissa is my sister, Melissa. And man has she also been a great blessing to us. She comes on Wednesday nights and sometimes on Sundays to help me out with the kiddos. Lillie and Ellie LOVE her and she is SO good with them. We are very thankful to have her.

The kids are always teaching me new things. Even if I can't pinpoint the lesson I'm learning at the moment, I know that somethings is going on. It has been so amazing to watch them grow. I can't believe how big they are all getting! And of course, baby Phoebe is simply adorable at all times. :)
Elijah and I just celebrated our birthdays. He turned 6 on February 5th and I turned 22 on February 6. I love that our birthdays are so close together! We celebrated with pretty much running wild on Wednesday night at church.

This one is of Lillie and Ellie playing together...they have become great pals!

God has given me far more than I deserve. He has a wonderful and beautiful plan for my life, and yours. I am excited to see what He has planned for me.

Miss Christy

*Happy Birthday Jesus...*

Luke 2 : The Birth of Jesus
1In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2(This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3And everyone went to his own town to register.
4So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
6While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
The Shepherds and the Angels 8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
15When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."
16So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

New Beginnings...How Exciting!

The fall is bringing forth new beginnings. I am so excited and nervous all at once. Jennifer (my pastor's wife and one of my best friends) and I traveled to Presbyterial last weekend. We had debated on going for so long, and now I am SO glad that we went. God really blessed our time together and blessed me with growing in my relationships with christian ladies. It really is true that time spent in the Lord is so sweet. This is a picture of Camden ARP..where we went.As we traveled, Jen and I planned the upcoming units for the Children's Ministry and I am pumped!!! The teacher in me is, of course, coming out and I am loving planning these units.
For our older kids: The Lion Room, we are working on a "God Made..." Unit series. The first is God made my Body. We are focusing on the different ways we use the parts of our body to worship God. Worship is not just for Sunday mornings in church...our lives should be worship...so we are learning how we do that. For example, we just learned about our brain first. Our thoughts should be filled with whatever is true, honorable, right, pure... The overall theme is the verse that tells us the we, as christians, are a pleasing aroma to Christ. We are serving 'his nose'. =) We will continue to learn how are ears, mouth, hands, feet... can serve Christ. After that we will do 2 more God Made units...God Made Relationships and God Made Feelings. I'm so excited!! Following those we will do the God Gave us the Bible unit. That one will teach me so much, as well as the children.
On Wednesday nights the Lion Room will be working on our Catechism questions. For our Lamb room, Sundays will be God Made the Animals, and on Wednesdays they are learning their colors and talking about things God made that are those colors.
I am so excited about this ministry! I'm excited about our church. My constant prayer has been that God would close the doors if He didn't want me there, and until then, that we would still be standing. We are on a roller coaster...but things are looking up. It's been hard, but the other night I really prayed hard about giving it to God. So often I get caught up in trying to do all that I can to grow this church...and that is so not what it is about. It is what God does. So often we serve and we serve..but then God says, Alright...Serve ME. We get so caught up in the work, that we forget who we are fighting for. I am in love with my savior...and that is what matters.

On another note, school starts tomorrow. I am entering my senior year of college. It is so surreal in many ways. I cannot believe that it is almost time for me to have my career. To finally do what I have wanted to do my entire life. It is also amazing at how God's plans for me, were nothing like my own. He is such an amazing God!

I leave you with this,

"Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our Salvation."
Psalm 95:1
I am shouting. God is good. All the time!

Much Love,
Miss Christy

July 26, 2008 - Rest in Peace Grandaddy Bish

...Saturday, July 26, my great grandaddy died. LE Bishop. He was 89 years old. I am so blessed to have had a great-grandparent that I got to know. So many people my age never even met their great-grandparents. 6 years ago, my Baba died. She was the love of Grandaddy Bish's life. I am so thankful that I know that they are together now. Grandaddy is talking to Jesus and spending time with his wife once again. His speech is fixed, he isn't confused anymore. I know that he loved each member of his family dearly, but he's happy now. I'm really going to miss him. But, know that I will one day see him again...
